Option-Drag to copy an event in the new Outlook for Mac?

I like the look of the new Outlook for Mac. But the functionality of the Calendar seems to have lost a lot of things compared to the old Outlook.

  • I can't Option-drag a meeting to create a copy on another day or a new time (it's a standard way of doing things on a Mac and worked in the old Outlook)
  • I can't drag an event to another calendar in the section at left to move this event to this calendar.
  • When creating a new event, there's no option to change the reminder time for the event. I have to create the event, save it, open it again, go the event options, change the reminder and I still have to click on two buttons to save the change. Way too much trouble.

Am I missing a magic option somewhere?

I'm working from home on a Mac, connected to an enterprise version of O365 at my university.

Hi Christian,

Thank you for posting your issue on Microsoft Community. There are several features that aren't yet available in the new Outlook experience and some known issues such as Mail and events can't be moved or copied between accounts. However, our product team is investigating this issue in the new Outlook for Mac. You may switch back by turning off the New Outlook switch to avoid this issue.

For detailed information see under Features not yet available in the new Outlook for Mac/Known issues

Your time and understanding will be highly appreciated.

Best regards,

Shyamal

There was an update to 16.78.1 and Shift-Cmd-C still doesn't work for me. I can perform the shortcut or select it in the right click menu, but nothing happens. Could somebody using 16.78 or above confirm if you are experiencing the same.

Any updates here? Copying an event is a pretty important feature!

    Hello Rebecca,

Use Shift+Cmd+C. (Sure it's not as straightforward as a shift+Drag/drop but it works for me)

I use a Macbook Pro. Monterey Version 12.6.6 and Microsoft Outlook for Mac Version 16.77

This is what I do to copy an appointment or meeting.

Right-click the appointment that you want to copy > click Move > click Copy to Folder> select your current calendar" this makes a second copy of the event or appointment in the same day as the original, open the second copy and enter the date that you want the copy to go to.

I'm seriously thinking of leaving Microsoft Office.
