I like the look of the new Outlook for Mac. But the functionality of the Calendar seems to have lost a lot of things compared to the old Outlook. I can't Option-drag a meeting to create a copy on another day or a new time (it's a standard way of doing things on a Mac and worked in the old Outlook) I can't drag an event to another calendar in the section at left to move this event to this calendar. When creating a new event, there's no option to change the reminder time for the event. I have to create the event, save it, open it again, go the event options, change the reminder and I still have to click on two buttons to save the change. Way too much trouble. Am I missing a magic option somewhere? I'm working from home on a Mac, connected to an enterprise version of O365 at my university.

Others offered that workaround earlier, but that does not work at least with my version of standalone Office on a Mac. None of the "right click" Mac alternates (option-click, etc) produce the results you mention.

Since this workaround works only for events where you haven't invited anyone (at least in my version) - could you test if you find that option if you first create a simple event?

Also, after the various interim updates, things have changed. At one point it auto-changed me to the new version, I tried copying events with no luck so changed by to the old version, only to find that the calendar was completely empty. I managed to reload the previous version, regaining my calendar when I shifted to the old version. After the next update, the switch back to the old version after the "auto change" to the new one retained the calendar events. Later, it told me I wouldn't have any choice and would be shifted to the new version the next time I restarted Outlook with no option to switch to the old version. I guess they must have gotten a big response, because that was apparently never instituted. In fact, at the most recent update, it didn't force me temporarily to the new version as it had been. It left me in the old version. I have no idea whether there is some logic to this sequence of events. At this point, I'm just happy to have the old version still available.

Here's a workaround I found somewhere else... "I found I can do it by right-clicking the appointment > Move > Copy to Folder... > select your current calendar. This creates a copy of the appointment that I can then drag/move to the new time slot while leaving the original in place." Thank you very much LukeDACS for this workaround, it does work very well with my new version of Outlook for Mac! It will save me soooo much time...

Hi Christian,

Thank you for posting your issue on Microsoft Community. There are several features that aren't yet available in the new Outlook experience and some known issues such as Mail and events can't be moved or copied between accounts. However, our product team is investigating this issue in the new Outlook for Mac. You may switch back by turning off the New Outlook switch to avoid this issue.
