I like the look of the new Outlook for Mac. But the functionality of the Calendar seems to have lost a lot of things compared to the old Outlook. I can't Option-drag a meeting to create a copy on another day or a new time (it's a standard way of doing things on a Mac and worked in the old Outlook) I can't drag an event to another calendar in the section at left to move this event to this calendar. When creating a new event, there's no option to change the reminder time for the event. I have to create the event, save it, open it again, go the event options, change the reminder and I still have to click on two buttons to save the change. Way too much trouble. Am I missing a magic option somewhere? I'm working from home on a Mac, connected to an enterprise version of O365 at my university.

Hi Guys Not sure if you've managed to solve the issue. I too today needed to duplicate an event in Microsoft on my Mac and like so many of you was frustrated when i couldn't do this. I've noticed for other things such as viewing shared calendars there's better functionality in the outlook web version so thought i would give that ago for the event duplication and was pleased to see that if you right hand click your event there is the option to duplicate, not quite as easy as control and drag but better than recreating events. Hope that helps some people

I held off upgrading for a year and a half for this reason alone, I've now been forced to use the new Outlook and still can't do this most basic of features. Hi @Tam3Smith - thank you. Yes, I saw the workaround, but there's not enough other compelling new stuff in the latest Outlook to make me want to change. And, it still doesn't explain or excuse this product development choice.

Here is the workaround I just learned about above that takes only a few more steps. Right click on the event (Your event; not others who have invited you) in your calendar that you want to copy and follow the Move-->Copy to Folder <image> It will select your own calendar to copy to by default: <image> After Clicking OK, you'll see a duplicate appear next to your original event: <image> You can then take the duplicated copy and drag it wherever you want. No, it's not OPT + Drag a copy to a new location but it's not too bad while we wait for MS to get its developers on this. Hope that helps!

Hi Christian,

Thank you for posting your issue on Microsoft Community. There are several features that aren't yet available in the new Outlook experience and some known issues such as Mail and events can't be moved or copied between accounts. However, our product team is investigating this issue in the new Outlook for Mac. You may switch back by turning off the New Outlook switch to avoid this issue.
