I like the look of the new Outlook for Mac. But the functionality of the Calendar seems to have lost a lot of things compared to the old Outlook. I can't Option-drag a meeting to create a copy on another day or a new time (it's a standard way of doing things on a Mac and worked in the old Outlook) I can't drag an event to another calendar in the section at left to move this event to this calendar. When creating a new event, there's no option to change the reminder time for the event. I have to create the event, save it, open it again, go the event options, change the reminder and I still have to click on two buttons to save the change. Way too much trouble. Am I missing a magic option somewhere? I'm working from home on a Mac, connected to an enterprise version of O365 at my university.

Hi Joe, Go to 'Help' in your menu-bar and choose Legacy Version. This should bring back the old version and you can copy by dragging again. ; ) Thank you! I hope this functionality is added to the NEW version before they also take away the option to revert under the Help menu. For now I will use that. I appreciate your quick response.

Hi Shyamal, Today Microsoft once again tried to shove the new Outlook for Mac down my throat. I complied and tried the option-drag feature to see if this MOST IMPORTANT feature for me as a freelancer was fixed. NOPE. After 2 years this is still not fixed? Does Microsoft actually listen to its users? So, back to legacy version. Again. It's really become apparent that someone at Microsoft is asleep at the wheel. No one is paying attention, clearly.

Although the toggle switch has now gone for reverting back to the 'classic Outlook' there is now an option under the Help menu to revert – thank goodness that is there as the "New Outlook" is still not fit for purpose (another issue I found with the New Outlook was that reminders pop up for all calendars, not just the primary calendar).

Hi Christian,

Thank you for posting your issue on Microsoft Community. There are several features that aren't yet available in the new Outlook experience and some known issues such as Mail and events can't be moved or copied between accounts. However, our product team is investigating this issue in the new Outlook for Mac. You may switch back by turning off the New Outlook switch to avoid this issue.
