Changing Font on Outlook Mobile App for Android

Well, there is no such option to change the font. However, there is a workaround for this. But for that, you should have Microsoft Word installed on your smartphone. Obviously, in most of the cases, we usually don't require formatted texts in emails. However, meticulously drafted emails requires so, and the effort that I am about to tell seems to be justified until the in-built text formatting features are not available in the app itself.

What you are required to do is, draft your email in a new word document on the phone. Then do the necessary changes that you require with the text, for example, make the text justified if you wanted in your email. Similarly, add line spacing and do other necessary paragraph formatting.

Then copy the whole text. And head back to the outlook app. Compose a new mail, and in the main text area, paste the document. Make sure that the text is already formatted for final sending. It isn't advised to change the font and other things in the outlook app. Do it in word itself. After pasting in the main body of the email, you will get the desired formatted text. Voila!

If Microsoft is deliberately withholding this text formatting feature in Outlook app for making users to buy the subscription, I really wish that they don't read my text. LMAO

Yes, this is a work around but, hey wasn't technology supposed to make life simpler - MS are you listening???????

In an age where everyone is going mobile, it doesn't make sense to have such restrictions.

BTW, I have a O365 subscription and yet these features are absent.

I unconditionally agree with you, and sometimes I'm annoyed same way that you might be right now.

But can't help, maybe this is how things are monoplised. However, as you've said that you have the subscription, Microsoft really should now be getting up from their slumber. I really, really don't understand why these bare minimum features are not included with the app.

I really want someone to escalate this post to the Microsoft Developers.

FOUND A QUICK FIX:

Tap Reply

Copy a word from the original message body (to copy format)

Paste into start of reply body

Start typing after the copied word and hey presto correct font!

Delete copied first word

Unfortunately, it didn't work on my phone.

I'm using a Outlook for Android on a OnePlus 9 phone.

MS Outlook version 4.2135.2 and I have a O365 subscription!
