Using Categories in Outlook mobile app

Hi

Does anyone know how to apply Categories to emails in the Outlook for Android app please?

Hi Zeal,

Glad to help you here. Along with the “Categories” option, Microsoft Outlook for Android will also get a new floating action menu to help you quickly access a few essential features. You will be able to access the menu by tapping and holding the compose button. You will be able to access the menu by tapping and holding the compose button.

The upcoming “Categories” feature on Microsoft Outlook for Android will allow users to group emails, events, and contacts based on customizable categories. Once released, the feature will show up as a new “Categories” option in the app settings.

Tapping on this option will open a new page, which will include a couple of predefined categories and a button to add a custom category. When you tap on any of these predefined categories, you will see a pop-up that will let you change the category name and color. However, it isn’t clear how these categories will be displayed in the inbox. So you may update the Outlook at first to have a try whether it could work or not.

    Thank you for this tip. I didn't know about this app and i am just installing this because of your tip. I am going to test it out and if i don't forget will post a little review on it. Thank you.

    EDIT:
    It seems to work when I make new categories, the new categories made and added to a mail in the nine app seem to transfer to outlook,but when I make categories in outlook they don't transfer back, but that I wanted to reorganise everything anyway so I will do it in the nine app. Which seems nice so far. it has everything I need so far.

    Just an FYI to the group.

    Our company gave up on assigning email categories in the Outlook App last year. Anyone that requires this feature has installed an App called "Nine". This app is very useful until Microsoft decides this feature is as important as we do.

    This Nine all is great unfortunately you need to pay for it.

    But still is very strange why Microsoft don't add this feature in the app.

    So please add this feature!

    Today’s the day guys!!! I opened my Outlook app this morning, and low and behold…. Categories! The 4 year wait finally paid off!
