Cannot add Teams meeting to a single occurrence of a series

Hello,

We have a new issue - when a Delegate tries to convert a single occurrence in a series to a Teams meeting she gets a message telling her she must convert the entire series to a Teams meeting.  (""This is one appointment in a series. To make it an online meeting, open the meeting series and try again.")

She does not want to change the entire series to a Teams meeting.

She states that she was able to do this until about a week ago.  When opening a recurring meeting, she would get prompted and choose the single occurrence then proceed to add the Teams meeting to this single event only.

We are also in the process of moving users from Islands to Teams-only mode and I'm not sure if she was recently moved to TeamsOnly.

Same behavior as described in this locked & unanswered thread - except ours is a Win10 environment:

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Thank you,

Brett

Just received an update from Microsoft:

Due to the popular demand Teams engineering team decided to re-enable this feature. According to Teams engineering team that they have reverted this feature on Sep 14th.

Restart Outlook/Teams apps and check if there's any difference

    Hi Brett G G,

I have just tried to change an occurrence of a series to a Teams meeting on Outlook Web App, and it works. From your thread, you are using Microsoft 365 for Business account, right? I recommend you could also go to there and test if you could work it out. Double-click to open the event, then click Edit > This event at the top corner, then open Teams meeting button and click Send button to send the updates. Hope it helps you.

    Kind Regards,

    Betty

    Hi Betty

I'm using Outlook App (installed on local machine) w/M365 Business account.

I am able to do what you describe as well - both on web and app.  However, the user in question (same licensing, same Outlook App) is getting above issue for both her own and delegate's recurring meetings.

    Hi Brett G G,

Could she change the occurrence event on Outlook Web App? If she hasn't tried it yet, please give it a try and share the outcome with me.

    Kind Regards,

    Betty

    Hi Betty,

Using Outlook web, we were able to add a Teams meeting.   Which is certainly better than nothing.

However, still getting message when trying to add via (desktop) app - which is where the user primarily accesses the calendar.

I noticed that the series had an existing location.  So in desktop app we tried both leaving the location and deleting location before adding a Teams meeting, but still got same error message.

Any thoughts on how to resolve this for the (desktop) app?

Conversely, location made no difference in the Outlook Web - we were able to add an online meeting regardless.  (see image)
