When I try to add a new Office 365 email to my outlook I get the error below.   I think it's because of my "Work or school account" which I want to remove. I'm not sure how my email was signed up for this second account. I set up this computer for home use only, I won't be using any of the Microsoft Azure features.

My question is, what will happen when I remove my “work account” and leave my Microsoft account?  Everything is backed up on Onedrive, I just don’t know what to expect because when I went to remove it, it warned me about losing data and settings.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

To Narrow down the folder. I renamed the "LocalState" Folder in %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.AAD.BrokerPlugin_cw5n1h2txyewy\ and Outlook started to work again.

I was able to clear the error by going to "Accounts" in settings

Then, "Access Work or School", find your "Work or School account" and select "Disconnect"

    Then select "Connect"

Then log back in with your account

    No error afterwards.

I have a system which uses TPM + Bitlocker, with AMD Ryzen - with this as the TPM. I recently updated the BIOS, and after that, re-enabled TPM in the BIOS, and from then onwards, was prompted for my bitlocker recovery key on every boot after that.

To fix this, I cleared the TPM by:

    • Launch tpm.msc as an admin.
    • Right-click on TPM Management in left frame.
    • Select Clear TPM.
    • Shutdown + Power on the machine (Restart didn't trigger Bitlocker)
    • Enter the Bitlocker recovery when prompted.

After this, Bitlocker didn't bother me anymore, but Outlook did, with the errors mentioned in this post.

    I fixed this by:

    • Run powershell as administrator (with the affected user)
    • Running 'dsregcmd /status' will likely show "deviceauthstatus : failed. error:8007013d"
    • Run 'dsregcmd /debug /leave', reboot, and then open Outlook, you'll get a login prompt, and things should be good from there.

    Hopefully this helps someone.

We do have BitLocker enabled on these computers and did not receive any type of prompt.
