Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
Hi all, I've had the same issues since 4th January when my PC did an automatic update to Windows version 20H2...constant requests for password sign ins, trusted platform errors, etc. Inspired by some earlier posts this how I fixed it and I know very little about how PCs work.
I did this by removing my work email from Outlook profiles via the Control Panel and also from ‘Accounts/Access work or school’ under Windows Settings. I then temporarily disabled the Trusted Platform Module via Windows Settings.
I then set up ‘sign in with Hello Face’ since this is one of the prompts I was getting from the Work account.
When I signed back in to my PC there was no need for a password at all since I had face recognition and no requests for email sign in. I then added back my work email to my one (single) profile (Outlook) under which I already had my personal Outlook account and my business account using an Imap sign up.
For Aneta who asked in an earlier post, you won't lose any emails from your work account since everything is on the cloud. The emails all come back once you add the email under the cleaned up profile as above,
All seems to be working again since Saturday evening so fingers crossed.
Good luck and I feel your frustration with MS.
