    @JoBo,

    Please see my post specifically directed to you. My post to you would not affect the search options in Outlook, only performance.

    Yes I saw your post on the search speed. Not sure it would help me as pc has not been doing anything - I just leave it on with task manager running. Processor just using 0-10% resources. Giving higher priority wouldn’t make much difference ? I have about 300k items to index

    You are very lucky in being able to complete the rebuild within 5 - 6 days. I have had basically similar problems as you. However, co-incidentally or otherwise, since a Windows 11 update last weekend, even re-build is now effectively stuffed and will not work. I have tried the rebuild countless times over the past few days, all without success, as they either totally stall or progress at a minute rate. To give some examples, the rebuild had indexed 7 files after 3 hours, or 5 files after 9 hours (left on overnight with nothing else running, or this morning 16 files after 3 hours. At times this has meant that if the same rate of rebuild continued, it would take something like 900 years to complete - somehow I don't think that either I or my computer will last that long. Based on the continuing slow continuing saga this morning, it is going to take something like 56,000 hours to complete or more than 6 years. This Microsoft issue has become farcical. John

    When i first posted this problem on 6 December 2021, and after suffering for more than a month with the indexing issues., i would not have thought the problem would still be there in June 2022. Generally a problem like this would be fixed with a few updates and a bit of code. There must be something more to the problem that microsoft cannot fix.

    I fixed my indexing problems by wiping windows 11 off my computer and reinstalling windows 10. Have not has any issues with indexing since. I keep getting offers to upgrade to windows 11 which i decline.

    I feel for people who are having continuing problems with indexing as it is very debilitating as we all rely on the data that is stored on our computers.
