This ongoing and very frustrating issue has been going on since 11 release. Doesn't MS test before such a release? Sure the look and speed is great but without such an important functionality as search which has been rendered totally useless what good is it. MS said they would fix this but it appears the only fix is go back to 10.

Very bad response and service on this issue.

Just wanted to add my voice to this complaint. I have had this problem for months now and it has not been fixed so far. The search has restarted in the middle of the search process on some random day and started all over. After 2 weeks (continuously running machine) it still indicates about 50% of the indexing process.

    This is quite pathetic, honestly.

In the past, I have restarted, reset, stopped-started the search service, etc. - to no avail.

Very frustrating to say the least.

    Same here.

I got a user - which has a shared mailbox, and when she searches here - she will only find like half the items.

Another user - with completely same shared mailbox access, on a Windows 10 device - can search like the full items.

It seems like - lets say we search for a phone number of 11223344 - then it only finds the items/mails where the phone number is in the last email of that email thread - not sure if that is explained clearly.

But, lets say the phone number was only written in the first email - of a thread on like 5-6 emails, then the search wont find these items/mails.

Pretty frustrating to be honest. :(

Hi, I can also confirm the indexing has stopped now as well and back to the same issue as prior after working for the past few weeks.

Whilst I thought that the update had fully fixed the problem, that is not necessarily the case. I am finding that searches are not necessarily 100% accurate anymore and certain emails are just not being in included in regular type searches using AND. Interestingly, the problem date range is right around the time that the update was installed.

In addition, I have now found another annoying problem in that about every week, re-indexing starts from scratch again, and, in my case takes about three days to complete - during this period, doing searches will just not return a proper result in most cases. The annoying thing here again, is that despite the full re-indexing taking place, searches are still not supplying full results. This is particularly noticeable with one particular email for which no result will be returned despite using multiple choices and even single word searches. This gives a very bad feeling in that how many other searches are only providing partial results instead of full results.
