Outlook for Android opening links in internal browser

Hi, I noticed that all my links in my Android Outlook app open in an in build browser instead of the app, (such as youtube) This is really frustrating as I have to do other steps to find the option to 'Open in browser' so it then opens in the youtube app. This is for all links amazon, twitter etc.

Is there any way to disable this option? I am unable to find it in settings withtin the app.

Thanks

    According to Support

«This is a new Edge webview experience with the Bing search capabilities which is expected. There is no way to disable this at the moment. However, if you want to open a link in the default browser, you will need to click the link, then tap on the overflow menu at the bottom and choose "Open in Browser".»

Using the latest version of Outlook for Android and whenever i click on a link it opens in the internal browser. From there I'm able to open it in my default browser, but that adds an extra step.

Is there an option to use an external app?

I had the same frustration. I found if I double tapped on the username at the login after Outlook open the page in its browser and then hit the down arrow to hide the keyboard there is an ellipsis that I could choose open in browser. There is an Icon to perform web searches too. After playing with it, I think the options are always there, just somewhat hidden.

Now thats a crazy one. I get a pop up with a choice of chrome or the app. Like this...

    Completely unhelpful reply.

Whoever built this Outlook "browser" didn't test it properly....

If the link in the email is a notification for a 3rd-party app (eg Strava, and others) then the "Open in Browser" option mentioned above doesn't work. Instead of opening the (already installed) app, the "Open in Browser" button takes me to the Play Store, to install the particular app. You know, the one which is already installed.....!!!

I can put up with having to use the extra button to transfer web pages from Outlook browser to Chrome etc, but there doesn't seem to be a useable workaround for 3rd-party app notifications.

I use Outlook as a "hub" for emails, incoming notifications, calendar events etc (also full Outlook on 2 PCs) but this screwup could well change that.

NEED a setting option to disable this functionality. Along with a slightly less arrogant mindset & attitude from the support team!!!
