Outlook for Android opening links in internal browser

Hi, I noticed that all my links in my Android Outlook app open in an in build browser instead of the app, (such as youtube) This is really frustrating as I have to do other steps to find the option to 'Open in browser' so it then opens in the youtube app. This is for all links amazon, twitter etc. 

Is there any way to disable this option? I am unable to find it in settings withtin the app.

    I just received a reply from outlook app support. It was intentional, there is no way to open in the default system web browser, and there are no plans to change.

    Looks like I'm not using Outlook any longer.

    This is the thing that annoys me most - the context of my emails is that they are notification messages. If the information referred could be displayed in an email, it would be. The reason that I get a link is that I have to be authenticated to read the information that the email is notifying me about! I'm already authenticated in MS Edge - when I decide that I need to follow a link in my emails, I need it to be followed in MS Edge, not in some mini-browser.

    Yep. It's clearly a "new feature" for Microsoft (and a chance for them to push/force Edge browser) that they flipped On in a recent update.

    And for all of us it's an open "issue". May this long list of user's posts be a sign that this should be a setting and not an automatic behavior of the app.

    On my part:

    • I used the Outlook in-app "?" button to raise the issue to support.
    • Then I used the in-app "Suggest a feature" button, to add my name to the open request asking for it to be removed (it's a long list of users, just like here)
    • Then I configured my Hotmail/Outlook IMAP to another app (Gmail)
    • Then I uninstalled the Outlook Android app from my phone (after using it for as long as I can remember owning an Android phone)...

    I think these are the best things you can do if you are as annoyed as I am with this "feature".

    I contacted support after seeing this terrible update and wondered if the new built in browser was Edge  based (it is). Microsoft seems committed to forcing their new browser on everyone including Android users :/

    This is the response I received from the Outlook app support team:

    This is an expected behavior in the app. Link in an email or event in Outlook will now open in an integrated Edge webview within Outlook. This helps keep our users in the context of their email while tackling quick tasks.

    If you wish to go to your default browser, please tap the overflow menu at the bottom and choose Open in Browser.
