Outlook for Mac 2016 losing connection with Shaw email server per attached sync error message

1. Yes, I can install 16.16 on my Mac. I have 16.16 back on my Mac by doing a restore it to before I installed 16.32.

When I did the restore I told my machine to keep the 16.32 version rather than overwrite it. I have both versions on my machine now.( see above)

2. No, I cannot open 16.16.

As soon as I try to open 16.16 I get a message saying I'll need the latest version of Outlook etc..... (see previous screenshot)

Then the 16.16 Outlook shuts down.

3. The other version, 16.32, opens fine with my complete Outlook data base but if I try to use this version of Outlook it asks to be activated by subscribing to Office 365. Please see the previous screenshot of the 16.32 About Outlook showing it is not activated.

In summary, it appears that when the 16.32 version was installed it changed/modified my16.16 data file (OLM) to be compatible with the 16.32 version. So far it has not been reversible.

4. Here is the info on my OLM files. I have two of them 64 and 205. Note the file address is not the same as what you have written so I am not sure I have the right ones

I have moved copies of these two files to my desktop.

5. I have two Outlook profile apps, one for version 16.16 and one for 16.32. I added a profile to the 16.16 version.
6. I just tried opening the two files above 64 and 205. Neither will work with version 16.16. Both work with 16.32 but want to be activated.
7. Just tried version 16.16 with new profile. It opens but there is no data base. Needs to be directed to the OLM files to see if they will work

Firstly, I'm really sorry for the inconvenience, please kindly use the web browser to access your emails as a temporary workaround.

And for the Outlook for Mac issue, please give me another chance to continue to share my suggestions. To begin with, I'd like to confirm if you can install and use the 16.16 version of Outlook client on your Mac?

If so, here are some steps you may try to check this issue:

1. Go to ~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/Outlook/Outlook 15 Profiles/Main Profile and copy the file to a different location.
2. Then kindly try the steps in following article to do a clean uninstalling of the 16.32 version of office for Mac: https://support.office.com/en-US/article/troubleshoot-office-for-mac-issues-by-completely-uninstalling-before-you-reinstall-ec3aa66e-6a76-451f-9d35-cba2e14e94c0
3. Re-install 16.16 version of Outlook and active it.
4. Go to Applications -> find and right-click on Outlook -> select "Show Package Contents:

5. Create a new profile and add your account to the new profile.

6. Meanwhile, you can try to move the file you copied back to the location "*~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/Outlook/Outlook 15 Profiles/Main Profile"*and check if you can open this file with Outlook.

I should add that when I attempt to open my original Outlook I get the message about needing the latest version etc.

If I click okay then the Original Outlook closes.

I can't get into the original to set up a new profile.

I don't think setting up a new profile in the Outlook version from Office 365 will make any difference as it still will require activation and fees.

My Mac creates a backup every hour so what I did was, using Time Machine, I went back to a period before I downloaded the 16.32 version.

It worked for Excel and Word but of course they don't have OLM files associated with them.

However, on Outlook with the OLM data files when the 16.32 version was installed replacing the 16.16 version something has caused my OLM files to become unreadable by the 16.16 version of Outlook.

In the 16.32 version all the OLM files are available but if you want to send/receive an email it will not do anything until it is activated as 16.32 is a subscription version not the purchased version that I own (16.16)

First of all some questions.

1. Are you aware that Office 2016 for Mac and Office 365 for Mac are two different version and have two different Outlook programs.

And that the up to date version of Office 2016 is 16.16 and the up to date version of Office 365 is 16.32?

2. Are you aware that the above two versions are not interchangeable?
3. Are you aware that installing the Office 365 version of Outlook causes apparent irreversible changes to the original OLM files that makes them no longer usable by Office 2016 for Mac

If you know all the above then you should know how to resolve this problem.

If you didn't know the above then we have a problem.

Is there others who may know the solution?

Are we looking at a situation that may only be rectified by subscribing to Office 365?

Please answer me quickly as I'm without my Outlook data files.

No you are wrong.

I just downloaded the latest version of Outlook for Mac and it came with a default of 5 minutes.

Unless you've got something to post that helps the problem suggest you go away.
