How many people can meet in a Microsoft Teams video meeting? Is there a limit to internal and external guests?

If guests join on the web does this limit the number of external guests in a meeting?

    Doug,

    In this link https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/limits-specifications-teams#meetings-and-calls, the "meetings and calls" section, it says 350.  I want to do a live lecture with 300 students.  Is it ok for me?  If it still limits to 250, do you have any suggestion?

    Hello Chris.

    No, the max number of participants is still 250 for MS Teams video conference. The max number of live video windows is 9, which MS just introduced. They may add more live video windows in the future. MS is adding features very quickly.

    But isn't the maximum number of people in a video conference in Teams limited to 20?

    Yes, Igor.

    That is correct and for clarity, only the producer needs to have a true MS Teams account. Presenters can use their own email account, it just needs to be linked to the Producers MS Environment, just like you would share a folder or file using OneDrive. Then they can be a Presenter in a MS Live Event. It takes playing around with, but it works. Just practice and get everything setup before the meeting date.

    That was very helpful.

    If I setup MS Live events they will be able to join without MS account. If they would like to present something they would need MS account.

    If I stay with MS Teams they all will need MS account.
