Outlook Android app cannot login IMAP email server.

This suddenly started yesterday 3/4/2020.

I have 3 email accounts on my android Outlook app. Outlook.com, Google, my ISP's. The problem only happens with my ISP (comcast.net, IMAP).

Till yesterday night, I can send/retrieve emails from the same server without an issue with Outlook app.

First I noticed Outlook requested to re-enter email password. But it failed. So I deleted account, then added. Failed. I even removed Outlook app and re-installed it. Failed. Google and Outlook account are just fine.

I didn't change anything from my side. I can access Comcast email from Web/Windows 10 mail and even from the same phone using Samsung standard email app.

What was changed and how to solve it? I can use Samsung standard email app but I like Outlook.

I have version 4.2045.1 too, and the problem is defo still not fixed.  In fact it seems worse as I've not been able to setup a config that will login even when I default the IMAP port number as suggested elsewhere in this thread.  I've tried reinstalling and reconfiguring for 3 days without success.  Other email clients work every time.

It worked for me when I set a specific IMAP password in my GMX mail account (Security > Program-specific Passwords). This password does not contain any special characters so this might also be a problem. And then I also only added the port on the SMTP server.

The support group said 4.2045.1 should have fixed it.

I just downloaded it 20 minutes ago. We'll see how that goes.

I have had Version 4.2045.1 since mid last week.

Outlook accounts, yahoo, Gmail, and @Live.com accounts can send and receive emails.

Local carrier email accounts IE @mweb.co.za can now be added using the SP smtp port. And it receives emails. Sending emails in my case does not work. Mails hang and eventually moves to the draft folder. I have tried the mweb "non secured" smtp port with the same result.
