Outlook Android app cannot login IMAP email server.

This suddenly started yesterday 3/4/2020.

I have 3 email accounts on my android Outlook app. Outlook.com, Google, my ISP's. The problem only happens with my ISP (comcast.net, IMAP).

Till yesterday night, I can send/retrieve emails from the same server without an issue with Outlook app.

First I noticed Outlook requested to re-enter email password. But it failed. So I deleted account, then added. Failed. I even removed Outlook app and re-installed it. Failed. Google and Outlook account are just fine.

I didn't change anything from my side. I can access Comcast email from Web/Windows 10 mail and even from the same phone using Samsung standard email app.

What was changed and how to solve it? I can use Samsung standard email app but I like Outlook.

However, since you've tried all the possible troubleshooting steps such as uninstalling and reinstall the app to no avail, we highly recommend that you contact our Outlook In-App Support for Android. They have the necessary tools to thoroughly check this matter on their end. You may follow the steps below on how to contact them:

Go to Settings > Help & Feedback > Contact Support.

Up until this morning, all of the imap accounts in question were accessible via Outlook for Android.

Your request for us to contact support via the Outlook for Android isn't possible.  When I start outlook, it requests the password to the specific email account, forwards me to the account setup screen.  Even if you enter all of the settings correctly (I confirmed by adding the same account to my GMail app), it comes back with the error Check imap id & password.  The process starts all over.

If at ANY TIME  you select Cancel, Outlook shuts down.  There no opportunity to get to Settings as you can't even get a functional Outlook session going.

This is ongoing and I'm ready to bail out of ALL Office apps if MS can't deliver a solution to this issue.

Gmail can use an imap email account that Outlook can't.

This same issue has occurred to my Android device.  I know all the correct port settings and mail server information but selecting an IMAP account is not available and auto detection fails to work.

It's like the application is now missing POP3/IMAP options.

Reported same issue as Yesu1975 around same time. Prior to reporting I deleted Outlook and reinstalled. The issue temporarily went away. It has since reappeared. My husband is having the same issue on his phone. I was able to bypass reentering password request by selecting OK and then selecting "?" for chat session. We'll see if this works.
