Using Outlook for Android in business environments for email and scheduling
Just installed 4.2039.3 and problem still there.
(but here the first symptom is reply to a message goes into outbox limbo with "sending message..." forever.
Re-configured my IMAP account settings with no port # for IMAP server, and testing...so far so good...crossing fingers.
I'm not sure if my ISP hosting the mailbox will reject port 143 connexions....so obviously this is only a temporary workaround.
BTW, it would be great to add the ability to view/edit IMAP settings, without having to delete recreate the account when s'thing has to be checked/modified.
Well, it looks like for some reason, the particular IMAP/SMTP servers of my ISP make things worse than for most of the users in this thread:
4.2039.4 and the proposed workaround (no IMAP port specified) does NOT work for me (& my wife).
I can successful create an IMAP account and it works for some time, but very quickly, sending messages fails and subsequently refreshing some IMAP folders stalls.
I'm not sure if Outlook somehow tries to connect the IMAP server during the sendprocess, otherwise there is also a SMTP connection issue.
Unfortunately, I'm afraid there aren't that many users using the combo of my ISP and Outlook/Android via IMAP, so I will certainly be a victim of ping-pong between my ISP & Microsoft support; therefore I give up and look for another Android client for generic IMAP access (any recommendation, anyone ? Currently looking at Blue Mail (Blix inc.), but considering moving to ProtonMail, including the mailbox, not just the client)
