Outlook Android app cannot login IMAP email server.

This suddenly started yesterday 3/4/2020.

I have 3 email accounts on my android Outlook app. Outlook.com, Google, my ISP's. The problem only happens with my ISP (comcast.net, IMAP).

Till yesterday night, I can send/retrieve emails from the same server without an issue with Outlook app.

First I noticed Outlook requested to re-enter email password. But it failed. So I deleted account, then added. Failed. I even removed Outlook app and re-installed it. Failed. Google and Outlook account are just fine.

I didn't change anything from my side. I can access Comcast email from Web/Windows 10 mail and even from the same phone using Samsung standard email app.

What was changed and how to solve it? I can use Samsung standard email app but I like Outlook.

    Giiancarlo,

    Thanks for this feedback!

Can you share the actual response or was it verbal?

“multiple identities (aliases) on IMAP account”

What is that?  And, can anyone do that, or it must be a feature from the service provider?

That's a good message, thanks! But it also indicates they have zero quality assurance, because the issue can be reproduced within one hour easily. I'll wait till next year and may try it again. The BlueMail supports multiple identities (aliases) on IMAP account which is another feature I miss in Outlook for Android. The only BlueMail issue is very unreliable notifications.

Outlook Mobile Support has now, after denying it many times, admitted that there is a problem with Outlook Mobile for Android.  Microsoft's engineers are aware of the problem. When they fix it, the fix will automatically deploy.   No commitment on when they will fix it. I don't think I'll be around to notice a fix.

No, I ended up with BlueMail as I don't believe Microsoft will ever fix the broken IMAP in Outlook. Their support is terrible.
