Outlook Android app cannot login IMAP email server.

This suddenly started yesterday 3/4/2020.

I have 3 email accounts on my android Outlook app. Outlook.com, Google, my ISP's. The problem only happens with my ISP (comcast.net, IMAP).

Till yesterday night, I can send/retrieve emails from the same server without an issue with Outlook app.

First I noticed Outlook requested to re-enter email password. But it failed. So I deleted account, then added. Failed. I even removed Outlook app and re-installed it. Failed. Google and Outlook account are just fine.

I didn't change anything from my side. I can access Comcast email from Web/Windows 10 mail and even from the same phone using Samsung standard email app.

What was changed and how to solve it? I can use Samsung standard email app but I like Outlook.

No, it’s not auto updating. The version i have is 4.2043.3, not your 4.2044.1.   At the store, iv do not have the option to update.  When i ask OMS, they say I have the latest version

is version 4.2044.1 still working for you?

I've suggested a few times to the (cumbersome) in-app tech support that they might as well withdraw Outlook for Android from the market, until the time that may arrive when they get this piece of junkware sorted out. OfA is a never-ending story that lurches and staggers from one broken episode to another.

And the update rolled out on the 14th of November has once more broken outlook.

This is frustrating. The lack of quality assurance and all the testing moved on customers makes the software unusable.

This is a Microsoft support site. And it seems that some is at least concerned enough to blast you for "off topic". As for your "open only", you most likely have auto update on in playstore settings

    One question:

    Support wrote:

"Issue you reported is isolated meaning that we do not have any similar reports at this moment. ...

This is not something that can be prioritized at this moment since it does not have any impact on app functionality."

And when I pointed the support to this thread for getting more reports on the IMAP issue, I got this answer:

"That is a Microsoft forum that is not related to this support channel"

If Microsoft is obviously not interested in the information on the disfunctionality of Outlook for Android in this forum, why do we keep on reporting here, what is not working?

We cannot solve this issue anyway.

To me that seems to be wasted effort ...
