Outlook Android app cannot login IMAP email server.

This suddenly started yesterday 3/4/2020.

I have 3 email accounts on my android Outlook app. Outlook.com, Google, my ISP's. The problem only happens with my ISP (comcast.net, IMAP).

Till yesterday night, I can send/retrieve emails from the same server without an issue with Outlook app.

First I noticed Outlook requested to re-enter email password. But it failed. So I deleted account, then added. Failed. I even removed Outlook app and re-installed it. Failed. Google and Outlook account are just fine.

I didn't change anything from my side. I can access Comcast email from Web/Windows 10 mail and even from the same phone using Samsung standard email app.

What was changed and how to solve it? I can use Samsung standard email app but I like Outlook.

Just installed the latest version available to me.

I now can add the imap account again using :993 and :465 ports.

But the issue of imap folders not being associated with the appropriate app system folders remains.

Therefor for me imap accounts are still broken as I can not sent or delete an item.

Again I addressed this to support.

I got a reply that the issue is now known and that development will address it. No mentioning when the fix can be expected.

Well, that at least is something.

Well, version 4.2045.2 (42045817) just showed up. Let's see how that behaves.

I've just accepted that the Microsoft Outlook app just no longer works with IMAP and have uninstalled it.

Shame, as it was good when it worked.

Microsoft "sells" the Office 365 package as to include the android versions of the Office 365 package. I keep on updating OfA and log official complaints on the office 365 support page.

But, I think they’re intent is to support Microsoft Accounts or Exchange Accounts. Providing functionality with other providers is lower priority.  That said, it’s so low, I think they ought not even claim that they support other services.
