Outlook Android app cannot login IMAP email server.

This suddenly started yesterday 3/4/2020.

I have 3 email accounts on my android Outlook app. Outlook.com, Google, my ISP's. The problem only happens with my ISP (comcast.net, IMAP).

Till yesterday night, I can send/retrieve emails from the same server without an issue with Outlook app.

First I noticed Outlook requested to re-enter email password. But it failed. So I deleted account, then added. Failed. I even removed Outlook app and re-installed it. Failed. Google and Outlook account are just fine.

I didn't change anything from my side. I can access Comcast email from Web/Windows 10 mail and even from the same phone using Samsung standard email app.

What was changed and how to solve it? I can use Samsung standard email app but I like Outlook.

The Outlook for Android isn't originally a Microsoft app, it was developed by Acompli and acquired by Microsoft https://blogs.microsoft.com/blog/2014/12/01/microsoft-acquires-acompli-provider-innovative-mobile-email-apps/

And the code is even in-house (since 25+ years, see Outlook ;-)

(Yes I'm aware that Outlook365 & Outlook App are probably completely different dev teams)

Actually I am talking about the way a user can easily and intuitively configure an IMAP account.

Well. I can't think of any other client than Outlook for Android that can't edit IMAP account settings :-)

GMail app doesn't support IMAP IDLE push notifications so it is totally useless for IMAP.

Didn't I mention, that I do not like the GMail app?

You are writing about only one reason ;)

I really don't like the GMail app.

But concerning usabitlity and functionality in configuring an IMAP account it is a great example for Microsoft's development team!
