Outlook Android app cannot login IMAP email server.

This suddenly started yesterday 3/4/2020.

I have 3 email accounts on my android Outlook app. Outlook.com, Google, my ISP's. The problem only happens with my ISP (comcast.net, IMAP).

Till yesterday night, I can send/retrieve emails from the same server without an issue with Outlook app.

First I noticed Outlook requested to re-enter email password. But it failed. So I deleted account, then added. Failed. I even removed Outlook app and re-installed it. Failed. Google and Outlook account are just fine.

I didn't change anything from my side. I can access Comcast email from Web/Windows 10 mail and even from the same phone using Samsung standard email app.

What was changed and how to solve it? I can use Samsung standard email app but I like Outlook.

    I was using for 2 years in my old Samsung S8, Outlook App with one Live account, 4 Gmail accounts and my personal email in my personal server using IMAP TLS/SSL. To refresh my mobile, I backed up everything and reinsitalled everything. But the IMAP account in Outlook could not be configured. New version of Outlook does not even offer the advanced IMAP and SMTP settings. I am very dissapointed and thinking to move to GMail or other paid app. >:-|

    Outlook in win10 with same accounts working fine.

    C'mon. You broke it in Android, you fix it. :-/

    New version October 30 released. Haven't tried it as I am already tired by all the configurations over and over.

    The BlueMail looks good, but notifications almost doesn't work :-( I don't understand why it is so complicated to make a working IMAP client app on Android.

    On Windows PC, both Windows 10 Mail and Thunderbird works 100% reliably with the same IMAP email account. Similar to Outlook on (dead) Windows 10 Mobile.

    My problem is the dreaded "no content" issue that happens after seeing the "retrieving messages and calendar" message.  I have had this issue for about 2 weeks now and have gotten very adept at the following which has always worked:

    * Delete affected IMAP account within Outlook for Android.

    * Force stop Outlook for Android.

    * Start Outlook for Android.

    * Add IMAP account again.

    • For IMAP server DO NOT ADD A PORT.
    • For SMTP server ADD A PORT (server.domain.com:port).

    Early today I downloaded and installed 4.2041.3.  I have not had the issue yet, but sometimes it goes a day or two before the no content/retrieving messages and calendar issue.

    I will report back if it happens again, or if I am able to go a few days without the issue happening again.

    FYI, It has been 1.5-2 days.  I just had the "retrieving messages and calendar" message appear, and for the first time in about 3 weeks, everything was fine afterwards.  This is the first time I received that message after installing version 4.2041.3.

    I will continue to update if things change, but right now I'm hopeful the IMAP issue (at least the one that I was experiencing) was resolved.

    I am trying BlueMail and it looks good. Much more settings and support for multiple identities. I also tried the Nine, but notifications didn't work.
