Outlook Android app cannot login IMAP email server.

This suddenly started yesterday 3/4/2020.

I have 3 email accounts on my android Outlook app. Outlook.com, Google, my ISP's. The problem only happens with my ISP (comcast.net, IMAP).

Till yesterday night, I can send/retrieve emails from the same server without an issue with Outlook app.

First I noticed Outlook requested to re-enter email password. But it failed. So I deleted account, then added. Failed. I even removed Outlook app and re-installed it. Failed. Google and Outlook account are just fine.

I didn't change anything from my side. I can access Comcast email from Web/Windows 10 mail and even from the same phone using Samsung standard email app.

What was changed and how to solve it? I can use Samsung standard email app but I like Outlook.

    Latest vesion 4.2041.3 (October 27) seems to work for me.

    You have to reset the app data (or reinstall the application) and setup everything again. I added both port numbers 993 and 587. New email push notifications works, sending emails works. Closing and starting the app again works as well. Fingers crossed.

    My problem is the dreaded "no content" issue that happens after seeing the "retrieving messages and calendar" message.  I have had this issue for about 2 weeks now and have gotten very adept at the following which has always worked:

    * Delete affected IMAP account within Outlook for Android.

    * Force stop Outlook for Android.

    * Start Outlook for Android.

    * Add IMAP account again.

    • For IMAP server DO NOT ADD A PORT.
    • For SMTP server ADD A PORT (server.domain.com:port).

    Early today I downloaded and installed 4.2041.3.  I have not had the issue yet, but sometimes it goes a day or two before the no content/retrieving messages and calendar issue.

    I will report back if it happens again, or if I am able to go a few days without the issue happening again.

    IMAP stop working today after I restarted my phone! totally unreliable app!

    Had to remove and re-add the account for it to work! Hope I don't have to do that every time I restart my phone

    Clear cache in Play Store and Play Store Services apps and then try.
