When I press the 'battery' button on my Samsung android phone, it consistently says the outlook app is eating 60% of battery power. Similar to the last question in the previous thread; can microsoft advise please:-
a) when a fix for this will be published please? or
b) recommend an equivalent non microsoft product that works well connecting to outlook.com that doesn't voraciously eat battery power?
Any help is appreciated.

Had to remove Outlook from my phone due to it launching the Exchange service (somewhat randomly) running constantly in the background which was actually exhausting the battery.
Another quality product!
When I enabled App Permissions under security, Outlook started to prompt me in an infinite loop to allow it to access contacts and whenever I gave the permission it asked again, so it looks, that if contacts sync is enabled Outlook keeps spamming the contact list with sync. I disabled the contact sync on my outlook account and it seems that cpu usage is now lower, and also some guy from another forum said that this fixed his battery draining issue. I hope this will fix it, otherwise I'll stop using it as well. Shame on you Microsoft -.-

I am having battery drain issues on multiple corporate Android phones from recent update. We are mostly an iOS shop, but I have 8 Android devices and 5 have contacted me Monday and Tuesday (other 3 did not update yet) of this week saying their phones are dying in a matter of hours and getting VERY hot. If it was only 1 device, I could see maybe if it was something else causing this on phone, but when 5 people all have same issue all of a sudden...? One was unable to recharge phone because it was too hot. Quick work around was to force stop the app to cool down, but after some time it turns itself back on. For now I switched them over to built in Mail client, but for security reasons, we prefer to use Outlook app.
I've uninstalled app and reinstalled and same thing. Is there a fix for this yet Microsoft?
Microsoft told me to disable the contacts synchro on each account. This solves the problem of battery discharging but you can't see your contacts. I just enable it when I need and then immediately disable.
Microsoft apologise which is of no use at all......
I moved to the BlackBerry Hub Suite...excellent and no issues. Works perfect.

Thank you! I uninstalled it & reinstalled it & it solved the problem. Then I saw your post about it updating so I quickly turned off Auto-updates so it wouldn't update. Later on that night, I saw an update was available so I ignored it. Still working well!
