Whilst using Windows 10 Pro, I am receiving notifications in the notification centre when I have received a new email in Outlook. However, when I click the email in the notification centre it does not open the email.

Please can you help sort this issue. Followed all other forums etc. and these have not helped solve my issue.

    Hello Lewis MacLennan,

Thanks for your post in Microsoft Community. Regarding your description about “Outlook Notification Centre - Emails won't open”, may I know are you able to receive the pop-up notification as per the below screenshot? If yes, you can open this email by clicking the pop-up window.

If you cannot see the pop-up window for new incoming emails, I would like to suggest you to check the below settings for new message alert pop-up notification is enable or not.

    ·         Steps to Turn new message alert pop-up on or off:

    ·         Open Outlook client -> File Tab-> Options-> Mail-> Message arrival -> make sure this settings is enable

Microsoft nowadays just merely like a piece of rubbish. All the updates will mess up almost everything.

The Windows 10 update turns out to be BSOD. Office update turns out the notification unable to use anymore.

Poor lousy Micorosft, if your engineers are sleeping? Such an unethical and irresponsible attitude putting your users just wait for nothing!

Well what a surprise - an update breaks a feature that used to work. Despite over a year of complaints it does not seem to be fixed!!

I just had my update and have EXACTLY the same issue. I get a popup which I used to be able to click to open the email if I wanted to, but now I click and it just goes away. Outlook 365 and Win 10. Farcical.

No point in having a notification if you cannot do anything with it!

Along with the changed search function that takes an extra click to do what I used to do with 1 click, this is typical of changes just because some techy thinks it is a good idea.

Very frustrating when working to have to change process.

Same thing happened to me after my "update" yesterday exactly as Bill said. The notifications are still useful to me, but they'd be far more useful if they worked as intended rather than interrupt my workflow. And I hate the new search. The location makes no sense to me and the extra click/button always screws me up. Seriously, who is making decisions over there? Rest assured guys, this issue will NOT be fixed. Happy adjusting!

SAME HERE!  Got an "update" a while back, now when i click outlook notification pop ups, nothing happens when it use to open the email in another window.

Gmail pop-ups still work, maybe I should just delete outlook?

There used to be a setting that when you clicked the notification from the centre, it would open that message, but after a Windows update this setting appears to have either stopped working or disappeared.

Just because it works on your computer doesn't mean it works on everybody's. It's not just coincidence that multiple people are having the same problem.

I am having the exact same issues as everyone else is describing. Very frustrating.
