Whilst using Windows 10 Pro, I am receiving notifications in the notification centre when I have received a new email in Outlook. However, when I click the email in the notification centre it does not open the email.

Please can you help sort this issue. Followed all other forums etc. and these have not helped solve my issue.

I have the same issue: mail opens in Outlook from the desktop alert popup (if I'm quick enough to click) but not from the notification bar. Clicking the item in notification bar only dismisses notification but the mail is not opened.

    Win10 Enterprise, v1809, OS build 17763.973

    Outlook version 1908

I am also having the issue. When you click on the banner notifications, they do not open the corresponding application in Windows 10. The same issue was discussed here https://superuser.com/questions/1376344/notifications-wont-open-when-i-click-on-them-on-windows-10?newreg=0a9919793ca343b1a261781080c4dc0d but nothing works.

    Microsoft, please help!

I started having the same problem after I set my Windows 10 machine back to a local login (rather than my personal Microsoft account, where the UN matched the email in question).  Is that the issue?  That my local login is not the same as my Outlook email name?

The funny thing about the email notifications is that it used to work fine.  If you saw the notice and clicked it - it would bring up the email it notified you about.  Now you click it and nothing happens.

Also, this happened since some Windows 10 updates.

And another thing, the emails you view still show as unopened.

Very bizarre.  This is not a setting. This is a software glitch.
