Whilst using Windows 10 Pro, I am receiving notifications in the notification centre when I have received a new email in Outlook. However, when I click the email in the notification centre it does not open the email.

Please can you help sort this issue. Followed all other forums etc. and these have not helped solve my issue.

    Yo Microsoft... fix this. Yesterday.

You should be able to narrow down the cause by having a computer incrementally install all the Windows Update KBs and checking the functinoality after each update. This could narrow it down to a single KB that caused the issue. A dev could probably solve this issue in a few hours or even minutes, if you actually assigned this out...

I posted previously that the issue was resolved with the uninstall and reinstall. As with Ellen, I am experiencing the issue of the message opening in the background. I have to click on the Outlook icon on the taskbar to bring the message to the front. Better than it was, but still not working as it should.

Not the best option for all users as most may need to take it into an IT department or have it uninstalled and reinstalled remotely by company IT staff. But at least there is some kind of a solution no thanks to Microsoft.

So after an uninstall and reinstall the functionality has returned.   I had to turn the toast notifications back on, but it works.   Good luck all.

Just confirmed. Complete Office uninstall, reboot and reinstall resolved the issue for me.

    Worked for me too!

    1. uninstalled Microsoft 365
    2. rebooted
    3. reinstalled from office.com

I'm not sure why, but this worked like magic.
