Outlook Notification Centre - Emails won't open

Whilst using Windows 10 Pro, I am receiving notifications in the notification centre when I have received a new email in Outlook. However, when I click the email in the notification centre it does not open the email. 

Please can you help sort this issue. Followed all other forums etc. and these have not helped solve my issue.

    What is amazing to me is that this feature used to work perfectly...for the past 15 years!. Now I get this weird pop up notice, it hangs there for only a second or two, I rush to click on it...click multiple times...and nothing happens!  What a step backwards in functionality and productivity.  The new pop-up is not even organized well.

    Dear Microsoft,

      If you're not going to open the email when the notification is clicked, you should not offer the notification.  Do, or do not -- there is no halfway.

    I AM HAVING THE SAME ISSUES AND NONE OF THE SOLUTIONS PROVIDED IN THIS THREAD SOLVED THE PROBLEM. PLEASE ADVISE

    Confim same issue exactly.  Such an important feature to be able to click the desktop alert and open the email.  We are going backwards in productivity

    I have the exact same problem with the notifications and this definitely happened after an Office update.  I want to say it was at the same time MS did the major change to the search box in Outlook.  So really the broke two things that worked fine in one update.  I mean the search still works, but it is just now much less efficient.

    Funny how this thread started in 2019 and there were MS reps all over it, and at that time I think it was actually user/machine issues with the notifications.  Now that MS broke it we aren't hearing a peep out of them.

    I can't seem to find a work around. It was a very useful feature...and definitely happened after either a O365 or windows update (which happened around the same time)...uncertain which of them screwed it up.
