Whilst using Windows 10 Pro, I am receiving notifications in the notification centre when I have received a new email in Outlook. However, when I click the email in the notification centre it does not open the email.

Please can you help sort this issue. Followed all other forums etc. and these have not helped solve my issue.

Not the best option for all users as most may need to take it into an IT department or have it uninstalled and reinstalled remotely by company IT staff. But at least there is some kind of a solution no thanks to Microsoft.

So after an uninstall and reinstall the functionality has returned.   I had to turn the toast notifications back on, but it works.   Good luck all.

Just confirmed. Complete Office uninstall, reboot and reinstall resolved the issue for me.

    Worked for me too!

    1. uninstalled Microsoft 365
    2. rebooted
    3. reinstalled from office.com

I'm not sure why, but this worked like magic.

I tried these steps before reinstalling. They didn't work for me.

To others, you may not need to uninstall/reinstall if you do what I did.  Posted a few posts back.

    with outlook opened

go to notifications & actions in windows 10, turn off outlook notifications.

now turn outlook notifications back on.

    Closed outlook

    opened outlook

    went to file/options/mail in outlook

    I unchecked "display a desktop"

    recheck "display a desktop"

sent myself a test email, the notification popped up with a sound, I clicked on it, the email popped up........

Can anybody else try this and verify if it worked for them?

Your solution did not work for me. But a full uninstall did.
