Outlook 2016 "open in new window" doesn't remember size

Hi Everyone,

since yesterday my Outlook 2016 via Office 365 (64bit Version 1808 Build 10730.20102) does not remember the size of a new window opened -> e.g. Calendar or Tasks.

Everytime I resize it, close it and reopen it, it will open in a smaller Window on the wrong postion.

I have rebooted, started in Outlook in safe mode, disabled all Add-Ins and also reinstalled Office ... nothing helped.

This is really annoying and I need a fix for this.

Example:

Outlook | Windows | Classic Outlook for Windows | For home

    Hi All,

any news here ? I have to add that all Office Applications now show this behavior and don't remember the size and position. It happens in Excel, Word and Powerpoint, too ...

Please escalate this as it used to work fine. Someone must have added a bug in the code and now we have to face those consequences.

    Thanks

    Andy

    Hi Jennifer,

thanks for giving me more details.

Are there any documents for Windows mentioning that Windows should keep their size and position ?

Because this is a basic feature that has worked ever since! It is expected to work like this.

It won't help anyone if there is an option that Outlook should remember the size as everyone exepcts this a default behavior.

NOONE wants the windows to pop up in random sizes and random positions ... NOONE !

I have no computer anymore that does not show that issue.

All three of my PCs show the same behavior now. They did not do that last week.

Microsoft caused this by contantly updating the OS and Office in the background, so the user has no control anymore on what version to run.

Anyway, I don't expect this to be some feature request for some version in an unforseeable future.

I want this to be fixed and worked on. So please do everything in your power to escalate this issue.

This is a BUG, not a FEATURE (pun intended) ...

I get your intention on marking this as an answer, but there is no workaround, so there is nothing that helps other users apart from Microsoft getting it fixed.

    Thanks

    Andy

    Hi Andy,

Greetings. Since I can reproduce this "issue" in the latest version of Outlook and other older version of Outlook client, also, you have tried to start Outlook in safe mode, disabled all Add-Ins and also reinstalled Office but this "issue" persists.

Meanwhile, there is no official documents mentioned that Outlook is supposed to remember the size and position when opening a new window and no Official documents mentioned hwo to set to let Outlook to do so.

For this concern, we think it will be better if there is an option to set Outlook to remember the size of the new opening window.

In addtion, as you mentioned this feature work well before and it doesn't work now. If possible and you can set Outlook work to remember the size and position in a different PC, it will be highly appreciated if you can send us a small video about this and I will consult this issue with our senior engineer and help you further to troubleshoot this issue.

Moreover, please allow me to explain you the reason for mark my post as an answer is to help other community members who have the same concerns can easily found the answer and workaround about this issue. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this issue has brought.

    Thanks for your understanding.

    Regards,

    Jennifer

    Hi Jennifer,

what do you want to state with this copy/paste text that has not value at all ?

This is about a problem not about a feature I want in the future.

What are the next steps ? How will this be fixed ? Is the Outlook Development Team working on this ?

Marking random posts as an answer will not solve this.

    The issue still ongoing.

I expect this to be solved sometime soon, especially as you could replicate that issue yourself !

    Thanks

    Andy
