Outlook calendar 'changes' appointment into a meeting after editing.

Barry, I just now noticed that Appointments created using Outlook 2016 appear as Meetings when viewed using Outlook for iOS (but not when viewed using Outlook 2016). Outlook for iOS shows the Meetings with my Outlook.com address as Organizer and as Participant. When viewing an Appointment using Outlook for iOS, the Organizer is displayed as my Outlook.com address (followed by a string of characters that includes the words exchange administrator) and the Participant is displayed as my Outlook.com address (without any additional characters). Please ask the Outlook for iOS Team to fix this glitch. Thanks.

Barry,  AJ's workaround works for me.  I have installed Outlook for iOS on my iPhone and will be exclusively use it's Calendar feature to access my Outlook.com calendar. I have also gone into my iPhone's Settings>Accounts & Passwords and deleted my Outlook.com calendar from my iPhone. Please ask AJ's workaround on the Fixes Page at Outlook website (see link below). AJ, I need to correct my earlier reply - Outlook for iPhone is a workaround for me. I just now discovered that Outlook for iPhone (like Apple's Calendar App) allows viewing of Appointments by Day or Month (Apple's Calendar also allows viewing by Year). I also noticed that Appointments do not look like Meetings when Outlook for iPhone is viewed in Day mode instead of Agenda mode.  Also, Appointments created/edited in Outlook for iOS do not change to meetings when edited using Outlook for iOS or Outlook for Desktop (although they do change to Meetings if edited using Apple's Calendar App). AJ, I'm glad that Outlook for iPhone App is a workaround for you, but it doesn't work for me. Reason is all of my Appointments look like Meetings (with me as organizer and a participant) when viewed from Outlook for iPhone.  Most of my Appointments were created (and not edited) before the April update to Outlook.  Also, calendar function of Outlook for iPhone is not as versatile as Apple's Calendar App -- Apple's App allows viewing appointments by day, month, or year (Outlook for iPhone only shows appointments by Agenda, Day, or 3-Day.

AJ, when I just now tested Windows Mail and Calendar it converted an Appointment into a Meetings after I edited with my iPhone.   When I use my iPhone to edit an Appointment, my temporary Workaround is using Outlook Desktop app to delete and re-create the Appointment when I get back to my computer.  Today I used the Contact Support feature of Outlook Desktop App to remind Support that the problem is continuing. Windows Mail is not as fully featured as Outlook for Desktop (see link below for a comparison).

MG, Thanks for that - I'll use the Contact Support and do the same. I found that if you install the Outlook app on your iPhone, you'll be able to better see the make up of an event. Conflict appointments that turn into meetings have a light background and dotted edge. I have deleted these and re-entered them in the Windows mail app and iPhone Calendar app with no problems so far. I'll get back to Barry from MS who helped earlier in this thread and indicated a Skype name conflict. 

Clearly this is a big enough problem for MS to look at but seem to be ignoring...
