Outlook app on android is attaching pictures as inline and not as attachments

Hey Microsoft. I am being forced by you to disable legacy authentication

As such I will no longer be able to use Gmail as an option to send emails with attachments. Please fix your app.

This is absolutely ridicules. This post is from 2017 and it still isn't fixed?! I only have this app because I am required to for work.  I send a lot of photos for my job by email and having the embedded into the body of the email is maddening.

Why can I not properly attach a pic  to an email with the app? Why has this not been addressed?

Maybe apple products would work better...

 

I'm not "required to", but I chose to use a separate app for "Work" emails different to "Personal" on my phone. I'll eventually have to abandon this, as there are too many unprofessional quirks about the Outlook App. Inline photos is probably the worse, but its not the only issue.

Upon checking here, the way attaching file in Outlook for android is not like a normal attach like files.

What does that mean?

I mean, attaching picture in Outlook for Android will paste on the body of the email.

I don't believe you are listening. The bug was posted two years ago, has been viewed thousands of times, received hundreds of comments and remains live. Please explain how your listening and appreciating is helping the situation?

Apologising, appreciating and listening are all very well but I would like to be able to send an email with a photo. If you think this is the correct way to do it then why does desktop not do the same thing. One of them is broken, which is it?

Outlook for Android is different.

Wow...was just forced to switch to the outlook app for work and noticed this issue. I send multiple pics to myself through email all the time. Came here looking for answers because I figured there was a setting I was unaware of. What a major major major disappointment it is to found out about this major limitation. I hope you listen to your users and put a fix in for this. 

Same here, the organization I am working for uses outlook had to send a picture for issuance of identity card found out this issue. First thought this isnt possible and I might be doing something wrong as I had always been using gmail but stumbled upon this thread and rest is history.

I finally have someone at Microsoft interested in this issue. Microsoft believes that the app works the same as Outlook in a browser, which is not true. They also believe that if you add photos from a Onedrive account it is added as an attachment, which is also untrue. They are now looking in to it. 

I managed to raise the issue by going to the app, clicking on the three lines top left, click on the question mark, click on contact support. 

If enough people do this, we might get it fixed.
