Outlook app on android is attaching pictures as inline and not as attachments

This is really ridiculous that this is still a problem. The only way I got around it was by saving my pics to Onedrive. I could then select them from within the email with the option of inserting inline or attaching. Way too many steps!!!!

It is absolutely ridiculous..... but thank you for the idea of onedrive.  At least there's hope while hopefully Microsoft gets it's crap in a pile

In the meantime I have found and used two work arounds that can be shared with other users-

To send a single image as an attachment:

1. Go into Gallery (Camera images), click on Share, click on Outlook, (option to reduce size or keep original comes up), New Message, fill in address To and Subject, Send (arrow symbol in top right of screen).

To send multiple images:

1. Go into Gallery (Camera images) click on Share (3 dots connected by two lines symbol), option is then to scroll through images and select (tick) box in top left of images, then click on the word Share at bottom right of screen, then scroll down and select Gmail, a new email will be created that will have all of your images there as jpeg attachments. Fill in To and Subject and Compose email and send to whomever. This only works if you have a Gmail account though. There may be a limit on size (total) that can be sent at once.

This is getting out of hand. It has been too long for this issue to get resolved. I'm going to give outlook app 1 star in google market. Hopefully MS will realize the problem and fix it if everyone gives it a 1 star rating in android market/google play.

This is not true I in the past have always been able to send a photo as an attachement.  Something has changes and it is much more clumbsy.  I customers don't want to receive photos with in the email it affects the layout in the email and it increase the amount of time correct.

You are correct, it did used to send always as attachments and then there was an Outlook update. For me since then a single pic is sent as an attachment, and multiple pics send as inline. I use my android Outlook everyday to send pic to my workstation from the production line and it bothers me something incredible. It was faster to send pics via wifi email, and less fiddly than transferring them via cable or Bluetooth. Instead of sava all attachments, I need to right click on each one and save image as. grrr Microsoft grrr .
