Why do Modified outlook meetings get canceled?

For some reason, when the owner of an event makes any sort of change (adding/deleting a member or adding a url), the event gets canceled for me instead of just being modified. The owner even sees that everyone else in the event is still in it but for some reason, it got canceled just for me. any idea why the event gets canceled only for me when a modification occurs to an event?

    Hi Huni, 

    Yes I still need help. Sorry, we were off on Monday for the holiday so I am now seeing this. to confirm, yes this issue happens all the time and has been probably happening since I started full time with the company. The owner of the meeting does not cancel the meeting nor removes my name from the list when editing, she just adds a name and that's it. 

    Here are the subscriptions I have, I removed the unique number since this is public but if you need it to help you track it, I can send it to you in the private chat I have been having with you.

    Hi Mitchell94,

    Sorry for the late response. I just noticed your information in the private message. Thanks for your detailed description on this issue. For your problem, I’d like to confirm if this issue occurs every time. As far as I know, only if the meeting organizer canceled the meeting or remove your name from the attendees list then you’ll receive the meeting cancellation email. I suggest you do more tests and view the results to check if this issue occur every time.

    In addition, I’d like to confirm what the detailed subscription of your Office 365 tenant. You can sign into the Outlook web app > click on your avatar on the top right corner > My account > Subscription to check it.

    Hi Mitchell,

    Thanks for the reply. When you say “I am using the mail application on Mac”, do you mean that Outlook for Mac 2016 or else? Please provide us with the detailed information including version about this.

    Could you please provide us with the detailed steps screenshot which you have tried (i.e. Modified Outlook meetings) and about got cancel meeting via the Private Message for better understanding the problem.

    Hi there,

    What mail application you & organizer using?

    It's not possible you will get canceled meeting unless meeting organizer did that.

    It seems that the organizer send a meeting cancellation that will remove the meeting from your calendars.

    It depend how did he update or cancel a meeting he organized.

    You can try to create and update meetings in Outlook Web App to check if you still have any problem.
