Thank you for the information, Martha. We would like to know what is happening when you click "LOGIN".

It is possible that there is an issue with files of the Outlook app. Kindly check if you will be able connect your email account in Outlook after restarting your phone.

We'll be waiting for your response.

The attached image is what I get when I try to "connect IMAP".   When I originally go into Outlook to setup my account, it asks for all the server settings, etc.   Then it says "connect IMAP" (whether I choose auto or manual setup) and when I click "connect IMAP", this is what I get.

Upon seeing the screenshot, you can either choose "CANCEL" or "LOGIN" when you encounter the "Login Error" pop-up message. We would like to know what is happening when you click "LOGIN". Are you still encountering the error message when you click "LOGIN"?

Based on the error message that you're getting, the Outlook app cannot identify the mail server of your email account. We recommend visiting the support website of your email service provider to know the correct mail server settings of your account. We also suggest connecting your Microsoft account in the Outlook app to see if the error message will appear.

We hope to hear from you soon.

I'm having the same issue.  When I press "LOGIN" the error just repeats.  My only option is to press "CANCEL".

I've confirmed the name of the email server "mail.twc.com

Here is the instruction my ISP send me.

    1. IMAP settings:
      • Account Type: IMAP
      • Incoming Mail Server mail.twc.com
      • Incoming Server —IMAP port 993
      • Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): mail.twc.com
      • Outgoing Server — SMTP port 587
    2. Inbound & Outbound User Name:  full email address
      • johndoe@roadrunnercom
    • Inbound & Outbound Password: Email Password (same as used for TWC Web Mail)
    • SMTP Server Requires Authentication: Checked

One item to note, the ISP support person is using Outlook for Android with no issues.  I too was using Outlook for Android on my old phone.  I just can't get this to work on my new Samsung S8
