Cannot Preview PDF attachments in Outlook Web Access

We have Exchange on O365 and User desktops of Outlook 2016.  Some users have Outlook on their mobile phones also.

We can preview PDF files in Outlook emails on the Desktop Outlook and on mobile phone with outlook.

We cannot preview PDF files in Outlook on the web browser.  We can preview office files but PDF files display a blank grey page.  

We can download PDF files to onedrive and open and view them from onedrive.   

  1. Should we be able to preview PDF files in Outlook on the Web Browser?
  2. Can this be enabled to work?

    Hi Barry,

    It is still happening on Edge, chrome and ie11 browser and the OWA version is 16.2312.8.2554387.

    According to all information we collected, the problem could be related to the Outlook Web App's version. May I know the detailed version of the affected accounts? Are they still 16.2265.8.2549800?

    Here is a conclusion of all information we have received.

    You are encounter an unable to open PDF file issue on the following browsers in your Office 365 for Business Outlook Web App:

    Chrome 65.0.3325.181

    IE 11.309.16299.0

    IE 11.309.16299.0

    The Outlook Web App version is 16.2265.8.2549800.

    This issue also occurs when you want to open the PDF files in your Outlook.com account.

    But it works well in your personal Office 365 tenant.

    For further processing, please check the Outlook Web App version on your personal Office 365 tenant and give us the detailed tenant information for your personal Office 365 tenant. Please give us the tenant information in the private message.

    Barry,

    We still have the problem with previewing PDF file attachments in Outlook Web App. 

    On Win10 with edge, it still says "Couldn't open PDF    something is keeping this pdf from opening"

    on Win7 with IE11, it just shows a blank grey page.

    i tried it on this outlook.com email site on Chrome and it does not open the pdf.  it just spins an icon endlessly where the preview should display.  

    I also forwarded it to my personal o365 tenant and, using chrome, i was able to open and view it in OWA.  

    That suggests that it may be some setting in the tenant.  

    let me know if you need the info on my personal o365 tenant.
