How do i set up my icloud email with outlook on windows

I am having issues getting outlook to sync with my icloud email.

It eventually dawned on me the icloud.com email address has the

2-step verification process by default now. To resolve issue go to this url https://appleid.apple.com/signin and login your with your apple id/icloud account. Look for a place to "Generate an APP specific key code" Fill in the name of just for your reference for example outlook and press key to continue. A key code will be generated that looks like rtve-xxxg-letm-einr . This time when following the procedure for this thread put the key that was generated in place of your password.

Thanks for your post.

If you want to add your iCloud email account to Outlook client, please make sure you get the latest version of Outlook at first, then follow the steps bellow:

Open the Microsoft Outlook program on your computer;
Tap on the File menu;
From the File menu, go to Info>Add Account;
On the Add Account wizard, click on the tick button for Manual setup or additional server types;
Choose the Pop or IMAP service;
Enter your Name and your iCloud email address;
In the Account Type, choose IMAP;
In the Incoming mail server, input: imap.mail.me.com;
In the Outgoing mail server, input: smtp.mail.me.com;
In the Logon Information, input your iCloud username and password. You do not need to put the suffix, @icloud.com on your username. However, if there is an error encountered, try to put your full email address and see if it fixes the problem;
Put a check mark on Remember password and Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA);
Click on More Settings;
On the General tab, input the name of your account. You can choose any name that you want as this tab does not affect the connection in any way;
On the Outgoing Server tab, put a check mark on My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication;
Still on the Outgoing Server tab, click on the tick mark for Use same settings as my incoming mail server;
On the Advanced tab, enter 993 on Incoming server (IMAP) then choose an SSLconnection from the drop-down box;
Still on the Advanced tab, enter 587 on Outgoing server (SMTP) then choose Autoconnection from the drop-down box. Leave every other options as they are;
Click on OK when you are done;
Tap on Next to test the settings and configurations;
The test will show a completed incoming and outgoing test. Tap on Close;
You are all set. Tap on the Finish button.

Hi Jason,

For some reason your solution isn't working. It certainly seems like it should but it's not.

I'm trying to setup Outlook 365 ProPlus to get my icloud mail.

It just sits there trying to finish up but nothing happens.

I've checked and rechecked your info to make sure my info was the same but nothing happens.

Any other ideas

UPDATE:

I downloaded icloud setup for windows program and installed.

After installed and reboot it had option to check sync Mail, Contact, Calendars, and Tasks with outlook.

I hear you about painful experience.

Thank you for the info about contacts in icloud and migrating to outlook. I didn't use icloud for contacts, calendar, or notes.

I used outlook for those (contacts, calendar, or notes). Then in itune settings I set to sync with outlook for those 3 and not use icloud.

I found the 1st time I tried to start using icloud for contacts and notes icloud truncated contacts and notes to about 250 characters.

In the actual "outlook contact" notes section I had pages on some. When exported outlook contacts to sync with icloud I lost a lot of info.

So I rolled back to just using Outlook again for contacts, calendar, or notes. The downside was I would need to have my PC and phone together to sync and it wasn't backed up in the icloud.

After many years I did eventually give in and started syncing with icloud for everything. The lengthy contact notes weren't a priority compared to the convenience of always staying updated and backed up to icloud. Syncing with i-Tunes over the years was always a challenge and buggy.

Generating the app RSA type key for Outlook on apples site did allow me to create my apple email account in Outlook. But I too noticed the icloud email contacts and calendar wasn't showing up in outlook as it used to in older versions of Outlook. I ran out of time and had to go to work and haven't attempted to fix that issue yet. I will this weekend.

Your question about Gmail integrating with Outlook. I have never integrated the two just because I don't use Gmail but I do have a Gmail account so I did just try to add Gmail account to Outlook. I was successful adding Gmail account to Outlook 365 with very similar way as we did with icloud email account. I logged into my Gmail account online and under "Security and Settings" I turned on 2 step authentication then created an app login by selecting "other". Named it outlook then selected button to generate RSA type key. I copied the key from gmails site and pasted in password section when creating gmail account in outlook 365 and it did work.

I'm wasn't sure if your question regarding integrating gmail with Outlook was doing the above paragraph but thought I would mention it.
