I have sent/received a couple of emails to/from some people who are not in my Hotmail-People Contacts list (even those emails have been deleted a while ago). Now if I type their email address into People Search field - the email will show up there.
How can I clear this search cache, thus email-addresses (which are not in my Contacts and that does not have any corresponding emails anymore) will not show up in the Search?

Enter the first three letters and the auto complete list should appear then either press the down arrow to highlight the email address then press the delete key or click on the email address in the list and select the x to delete
As others have already stated, the above suggestions only temporarily remove the name from the list. The name returns when you do a new search.
The solution I have found, that seems to work so far is not to click on the X, but to use the keyboard.
Move up and down the list with the keyboard arrows, and when the name you want to remove is highlighted, press the shift+delete keys simultaneously.
I hope this helps the many people who have the same problem, especially since no Microsoft employee has given a better solution.
1. Click the New button to open a new message. 2. Type the first three character of the cached name into the To field to trigger the AutoComplete feature. 3. Press the Down Arrow key on your keyboard to highlight the name or email address you wanted to delete. 4. Press Shift + Delete on your keyboard to remove it.
I think that is exactly what I wrote ... lol
Thank you for the attempt.
But unfortunately, "the cat came back" .... all of them actually.
I guess the good news is that micros__t will never really let us die ....
