I am using Outlook 365 1909 (Build 12026.20320) Monthly Channel. The Sun and Moon button was available in message's toolbar in Outlook for several days and now it is gone. No policies have been changed and system is restarted every evening. Microsoft Windows Version 1903 (18362.388) x64.

Hi all,
The Outlook Team currently has the Sun/Moon feature enabled in Monthly Channel Production at 10% of users. It was enabled at a higher percent earlier until a bug was found. The team wants to fix that bug before it gets turned back on for everyone. If I can get an ETA on the rollout I'll post back with that status.

I experienced the same dark mode problem. May we know whether dark mode in outlook (with sun/moon button) is a beta feature or released feature?
If this is a released feature, why sun/moon feature is enabled in only 10% users ?
If this is in beta testing, why it is released in monthly production update?

I just checked my Semi Annual Channel machine and I can confirm the feature is not to that channel yet. It should get the feature in July when the current Semi Annual Channel Targeted version gets move to Semi Annual Channel.
Its likely you had Monthly Channel previously where the feature is already. If its an option you could reinstall and choose Monthly or Semi Annual Targeted Versions to install to get the feature.

The main article for changing channels is this one. Its more complicated than it should be. You have to download the Office Deployment Tool and then edit an XML file with the Channel you want to use. There is a sample XML that you can use on that page.
Another option that I would recommend is using this MVP article to switch to Insider builds. On this page use Method 2 to set a registry key that will show an option in the backstage to switch to Insider builds. The MVP has a reg key link under this section you can install the reg key which will add the button. After you install his reg key then go to File, Office Account and locate the Office Insider button to switch to Join Office Insider. For Insider there are two options, Office Insider (Insider Fast), and Monthly Channel Targeted (Insider Slow). I run daily with Insider Fast but if you want a more careful approach go with Monthly Channel Targeted. You will have all the new features as soon as they are available. Another benefit to this option is you have built in support by going to Help, Contact Support. This option is only there for Insiders and Tenant Admins.
