I am using Outlook 365 1909 (Build 12026.20320) Monthly Channel. The Sun and Moon button was available in message's toolbar in Outlook for several days and now it is gone. No policies have been changed and system is restarted every evening. Microsoft Windows Version 1903 (18362.388) x64.

The Outlook Team currently has the Sun/Moon feature enabled in Monthly Channel Production at 10% of users. It was enabled at a higher percent earlier until a bug was found. The team wants to fix that bug before it gets turned back on for everyone. If I can get an ETA on the rollout I'll post back with that status.

I experienced the same dark mode problem. May we know whether dark mode in outlook (with sun/moon button) is a beta feature or released feature?
If this is a released feature, why sun/moon feature is enabled in only 10% users ?
If this is in beta testing, why it is released in monthly production update?
So I was originally having this problem, and eventually an update gave me the sun/moon button in dark mode.
However, I recently got a new laptop with a fresh Office update on it (same account), and the button has gone. White reading pane is back.
This is on a device basis, not an account basis, and its ridiculous.
Unfortunately this is a work laptop, so I can't uninstall/reinstall, change my update channel, or muck about with my registry or XML files. I'm just stuck waiting for them to re-enable it for my account on this new device.
Not entirely sure how this is reasonable. It's been months now.
I also couldn't find the Sun / Moon switch background option. My current version is office 365 MSO version 1908 (Build 11929.20708) with "Semi-annual Channel". But I was seeing it before long back with my previous version on outlook. I just reinstalled my package. after reinstalling it disappeared. Any clue how to enable it ?
