I don't know what to do anymore, apart from migrating to google: ONE (and only one so far) of my contacts keep duplicating itself in my people list. No matter how many times I delete it, and where: I tried to delete both online on people.live.com and on the W10 people app. Multiple copies keep reappearing after a few hours.
This has now reached intolerable levels of frustration and I will move everything to google if a reasonable solution is not provided by MS quickly.

I haven't had the duplicate reappearing in the last day or so.
However I also had other contacts (many) reappearing after deletion (in single copy).
I have now deleted those too, and I will monitor on their reappearance.
I am not sure whether the problem was related.

Microsoft is aware of this. The most recent communication I had with the Outlook.com team (November 17) is that the product group is investigating. I've asked if there's an update I can share.

So, weeks pass, soon months, and nothing happens with Outlook.com Contacts infrastructure, links (and sync) with social networks (and Skype). Problems aren't fixed. So... What are the news???

I wish I had more frequent reports to share. I reminded my contact that I's like an update, but didn't get a response. Frankly, I don't want to bug him too much about the same issue and wear out my welcome. I will report back if I hear anything. I promise.
Hello, I am so glad I stumbled upon this thread! I am experiencing the same problem, and possibly worse than some. If I don't delete the duplicates every couple of days, they multiply to over 12,500, and I only have 140 contacts!
Brian Tillman, if you could PM me, perhaps you can connect me with the person/team that is investigating this, and I can contact them via internal channels? I can help troubleshoot it in real time, if they wish.
I spent a couple of hours yesterday allowing a Microsoft person to access my computer, but it was evident they had no more idea than I how to deal with the issue. They finished by telling me my computer was running very slowly (surprise, surprise) and that it would only cost me a few dollars to subscribe to their technical support. As I feel it's their problem, not mine, I declined.
I first noticed it on my phone, when I discovered I had 4000 of the same single contact. I downloaded an app to get rid of it there, but it came back, so I have disabled Outlook.com and use the phone's own email. However, I don't know how to bulk delete the contacts from Outlook on the computer - any ideas anyone?
