Since Microsoft "upgraded" Outlook Live a month or so ago, I've had problems editing details, such as email addresses and phone numbers, for people in my Contacts list. For instance, one contact's first name, last name, personal email, cell phone and two home phone numbers are editable: if I wanted to, I could put my cursor in the box and delete or type over them. But for some reason, the business number, which is no longer valid since the person is no longer employed, can't be deleted. The box is grayed out, and when I try to highlight the number with my mouse in order to delete it, the mouse doesn't work. This is true for other contacts in my list as well. Has anyone else had this baffling and frustrating problem?

quite unbelievable that Microsoft are simply not paying any attention at all to our comments.

I've lost count of the hassles I've had since hotmail was replaced with this pile of dung .
When all your mail and contacts are tied up with it, it is a big deal to change, but I heartily regret the day I went with Hotmail.
If it's any compensation [!], G-mail keeps making everything more unuseable as well.
It's quite frankly dreadful, if not atypicalof the mess that is "Outlook" webmail.
The only "solution" I've found is to Delete the Contact COMPLETELY, and start from scratch with the updated contact info.
Even that can be complex, and sometimes the "old" info appears, but it generally allows you to move on.
And yes, MICROSOFT sucks.
Sadly, so do all the other options!

6 or 7 years ago I moved away from GMail to Hotmail now I've moved back and while I'm still not a big GMail fan I have no problems editing contacts, easily knowing when I'm looking at new email, seeing more than a handful of emails in the inbox at once, easily and permanently delete spam...just to name a few of Outlooks deficiencies.
I think these folks are talking about editing contacts within Outlook, which I have figured out how to do.
