Can't edit contact details in Outlook Live

Since Microsoft "upgraded" Outlook Live a month or so ago, I've had problems editing details, such as email addresses and phone numbers, for people in my Contacts list. For instance, one contact's first name, last name, personal email, cell phone and two home phone numbers are editable: if I wanted to, I could put my cursor in the box and delete or type over them. But for some reason, the business number, which is no longer valid since the person is no longer employed, can't be deleted. The box is grayed out, and when I try to highlight the number with my mouse in order to delete it, the mouse doesn't work. This is true for other contacts in my list as well. Has anyone else had this baffling and frustrating problem?

    I do not understand why Microsoft does not stop changing the programs that users are used to using. If we want to struggle with something new, we would use a different program all together. So Microsoft, keep your hands out of ALL of the programs and let us continue working with them without all of these issues. I have been using Microsoft programs for over 40 years and am sick of this constant change. Get real Microsoft and fire the whiz-bang programmers and start thinking of the users of your software.     The Lists option doesn't display in my contacts. I have some I have to add to a list and I can't.

    it looks to me like the only options are:

    • recreate all contacts that have this issue
    • move to gmail

    neither are satisfactory for the many reasons that folk above have stated.

    • the amount of work to recreate contacts
    • everyone has my hotmail address; AND i don't really like gmail for email. they keep changing things, too, which just confuses me. i have a gmail account that i haven't used for a number of years now.

    that won't resolve my issue. I don't have the 'other contacts' folder you spoke of. plus when I tried importing, it didn't give me an option to import from where i'd saved the file. :(  but thanks for trying!
