Calendar event showing up the wrong timezone

Hi there, I refer to the screenshots below. The user, Pamela, sends out a calendar invite to both Jeff and Kok Guan, specifying the correct timezone UTC +0800. However, what Jeff views this event on his Mac running on Yosemite 10.10.2 is the UTC +0000 timezone, Monrovia, Reykjavik. The time indicated is displayed 6am instead of the actual 2pm, despite showing a notification that the event will commence at 2pm on Jeff's Mac. How do i go about correcting/removing the UTC +0000, Monrovia, Reykjavik, timezone stamp. Appreciate some help with this. Thanks!

Unfortunately, the server update won't fix existing meetings automatically.  However, users MAY be able to fix it themselves if they find the original meeting invitation (could be in Deleted Items) and re-accept the meeting(s) with the "UTC" time zones.  (Let us know if that works.)

If that doesn't work, they will have to ask the organizer to re-send the invitation.  (Organizer just has to open the meeting on his/her calendar and click "Send Update." Make sure to "Edit Series" if it is a recurring meeting.)

    Unfortunately, it doesn't look like updating to iOS 8.2 fixes the issue.  We're continuing to investigate.

    It's not an iOS issue. I am using Android too and the same issue occurs. Actually when using the standard iOS Calendar app, the issue doesn't occur for me. Any 3rd party app though causes the issue.

    +1 on this problem which is very annoying

    Repro

    Scenario: Time zone set to PST (either using Pacific or Baja setting)

    -Create and send a meeting (recurring or non-recurring) - start time 8:30 AM

    -Reopen the meeting e.g. to reschedule

    Expected result: meeting time and time zone is same as when I created it

    Actual result: time zone is shown as (UTC) Monrovia, Reykjavik AND time is now 3:30 PM

    Please fix

    I'm running 15.9 (150408) on Yosemite 10.10.3.

    I create an event in Outlook Calendar in PDT as George does above. If I open it back up in Outlook, it's still PDT. However, the second I touch the meeting with my iPhone 5s (iOS 8.3 (12F70)), it goes to UTC.

    I've also got Apple Calendar connected to my Office 365 Exchange account and it always shows in the correct time zone.

    This gets really annoying, as I'm on the road a lot, so I frequently accept meetings on my iPhone, which then puts them into UTC.

    Finally, this morning I noticed a meeting I had accepted for sometime next week was showing up in my calendar at the UTC time, not PDT, like normal. I had accepted this one and another invite from the same person (coincidentally, a Microsoft employee) on my iPhone. Why one of them was showing in my calendar at the UTC and the other at PDT, I don't know, but now I'm going to have to look at each appt. I have to make sure it's in the correct timeslot.
