Calendar event showing up the wrong timezone

Hi there, I refer to the screenshots below. The user, Pamela, sends out a calendar invite to both Jeff and Kok Guan, specifying the correct timezone UTC +0800. However, what Jeff views this event on his Mac running on Yosemite 10.10.2 is the UTC +0000 timezone, Monrovia, Reykjavik. The time indicated is displayed 6am instead of the actual 2pm, despite showing a notification that the event will commence at 2pm on Jeff's Mac. How do i go about correcting/removing the UTC +0000, Monrovia, Reykjavik, timezone stamp. Appreciate some help with this. Thanks!

Unfortunately, the server update won't fix existing meetings automatically. However, users MAY be able to fix it themselves if they find the original meeting invitation (could be in Deleted Items) and re-accept the meeting(s) with the "UTC" time zones. (Let us know if that works.)

If that doesn't work, they will have to ask the organizer to re-send the invitation. (Organizer just has to open the meeting on his/her calendar and click "Send Update." Make sure to "Edit Series" if it is a recurring meeting.)

Same here! Entire business (60 users) uses Outlook for Mac 15.6 (latest supporting Mavericks 10.9 apparently!!) and appointment time zone are all mixed up! Seem to be only happening on recurring events however, because on single occurence event time zone work correctly, but when people make recurring events, time zone are fu**** up!

I am working on different scenario and one observation is appear to be related with the system language. Time zones shown in Outlook for Mac 15.6 are completely different between the FRENCH version and ENGLISH version (we are in Canada BTW). People working in french have a default time zone called (INDIANA, EAST (-5.00) and people in english have a default time zone called (USA/CANADA, EAST (-5.00). Both are -5.00 GST, but when people are sending invitation between a french and english computer, Outlook seem mixed up between time zone.

Note than all hour business computer are in the right time zone no matter if they are english or french language. It's only Outlook for Mac 15 who look to be confused between time zones!

Hope Microsoft will work on that soon because at this point, Outlook for Mac 15 (O365) are an HORRIBLE client software for a business use... there's so many issues preventing a optimal work in business environment, what a shame!!!

I know it probably don't help on your case, but be aware someone else share your issue!!

I have yet encountered an incident regarding recurring events. Cant help you there, buddy!

Not sure if this helps. On setting a new calendar invite window, there is the timezone button where you can toggle on/off to see what timezone you are sending to. Perhaps, you can get the sender to verify the timezone before sending. If it is in the right timezone, it will mean that the fault may lie with the recipent or Outlook itself.

Totally agreed with you on the point where Outlook for Mac 15 seems to be totally confused between time zones. Both users are within the same organization in the same timezone and have UTC+0800 Kuala Lumpur/Singapore settings configured on their Outlook clients. I just cannot understand why the calendar event is indicating the UTC+0000 times when the settings have already been in place.

It is also a disappointment that this issue surfaces even after the user has updated to Outlook ver15.8.1.

I am having the exact same issue with events created on a mobile device. If I create an event on my iPhone or iPad, on the other iOS device the time zone shows correctly, and on Outlook OWA it does too, by the way I am in Eastern Time in the US, so UTC-0500, but on the MAC Client 15.8.1 it lists Monrovia, Reykjavik and then has the notification just like your screenshot above. So if it helps, it appears the problem occurs west of UTC as well as east of UTC :) Hopefully Microsoft sees this and fixes it, Time Zone support is pretty basic stuff to not get right.

Thanks for you reply. I was aware of the toggle button for the time zone. But the bug is no one press on this button to enable time zone managing when they create a new event. But what I saw (with all of my 60 users), is when they have guest invited in the reunion, they didn't press on the toggle button (to enable it) but when guest receive the meeting invitation, the toggle button for time zone is enabled and the time zone field (not the right one) shows in the meeting details. Moreover if the host of the reunion return to edit (or show details) of it's own meeting, the toggle button is enabled for time zone even if it never press it during the meeting creation process. I think when a meeting have guest (not a personal event), the time zone seem to enable by itself and doesn't show the right time zone thereafter!

It's EXTREMELY annoying and problematic for a business use when people have like 10 meeting or events on each days... they can't count on their calendar anymore!!

BTW I also have another major issue with calendar in Outlook for Mac 15.8.1... sometime the meeting alarm didn't shows up on the computer (at least it work on my iPhone). So if I have an appointment at 9:00 AM... no alarm from Outlook. But if like 2 hours later I close (QUIT) my Outlook then re-open it, BAM, I have an alarm with OVERDUE 2 HOURS!! God damn it!!

How can we ran a medium sized business with that kind of poor and unreliable software?!?
