Mac Outlook 2016 - Import Contacts

I can't find a straightforward answer on this, so hoping you can help. I want to import a list of contacts in Excel (Mac 2016) into my Outlook (Mac 2016) contacts list. This used to be easy, but I cannot find the functions to do this now. Is this another functionality Microsoft has stripped from Mac Office or is there a way to do it?

You can't import it straight into Outlook, but there is a way around this:

• Export from Excel to a csv file.

• Import the csv file into the System Contact app (it should be fairly

straightforward, especially if all fields are properly labeled).

• Select all contacts there and drag them to the desktop to create a .vcf

• drag the .vcf into the address book where you want them imported in

Outlook.

That should do the trick.

    I realize this is almost a year old. 

    Where does one find the "System Contact" app? I have been searching the Internet for a while and can't find it.

    It the "Contacts" app that comes with your Mac. You should be able to find it in your dock. If not, look in your Applications folder for "Contacts" (it's basically an address book).

    I'm not sure how you'd go about deduping. It might involve a long evening of clicking-n-deleting while enjoying a good movie :/

    That's exactly what I've tried to do, but it doesn't let me drag it to Address Book, for some reason.

    Did you make sure to drag and drop directly on the words "Address Book"? If i remember correctly, it didn't work if I dropped it into the general area of that left column.
