Mac Outlook 2016 - Import Contacts

I can't find a straightforward answer on this, so hoping you can help. I want to import a list of contacts in Excel (Mac 2016) into my Outlook (Mac 2016) contacts list. This used to be easy, but I cannot find the functions to do this now. Is this another functionality Microsoft has stripped from Mac Office or is there a way to do it?

You can't import it straight into Outlook, but there is a way around this:

• Export from Excel to a csv file.

• Import the csv file into the System Contact app (it should be fairly

straightforward, especially if all fields are properly labeled).

• Select all contacts there and drag them to the desktop to create a .vcf

• drag the .vcf into the address book where you want them imported in

Outlook.

That should do the trick.

    thanks, i imported the .csv files into my contacts and then saved them as .vcf as prior posts recommend. i want to drag them into the contacts in the people section of outlook but want them to go into a specific group and not mixed in with all my other

    I see. As far as I know, you have to import them into your main list of contacts. You'd then create a new contact group and "add contact" (from the list of all imported contacts).

    Anyone know a work-around?

    In my case, I had to export my contacts individually as .vcf files out of Entourage (my old email app). I took that folder of individual .vcf contacts and dragged them into the Outlook address book.

    Are you exporting from a Mail app or do you have a .csv list? I had no luck trying to import .csv files :(

    I understand about the dragging of contacts into the people section of outlook for mac on the far left, but how do i make a new contact group and drag it into the group-thanks dr friedman
