Mac Outlook 2016 - Import Contacts

I can't find a straightforward answer on this, so hoping you can help. I want to import a list of contacts in Excel (Mac 2016) into my Outlook (Mac 2016) contacts list. This used to be easy, but I cannot find the functions to do this now. Is this another functionality Microsoft has stripped from Mac Office or is there a way to do it?

You can't import it straight into Outlook, but there is a way around this:

• Export from Excel to a csv file.

• Import the csv file into the System Contact app (it should be fairly

straightforward, especially if all fields are properly labeled).

• Select all contacts there and drag them to the desktop to create a .vcf

• drag the .vcf into the address book where you want them imported in

Outlook.

That should do the trick.

    Thanks for the reply Correntin. Dragging .vcf files or lists into the Outlook for Mac 2016 doesn't work. I had previously tried this with an exported set of .vcfs from my email client. Then I tried the method as you described it. No luck.

    what is or where do you find the system contact app that you referred to? i have a csv file but i've not succeeded in getting them into my contacts in Outlook 2016 for Mac. 

    not sure how to convert cvs files into vcf. although i do have a vcf file that i've imported into Apple contacts but it doesn't seem to work with Outlook either.

    very frustrating especially for a technologically challenged person.

    Our company is the same boat as slinky. This issue needs to be addressed/explained or fixed. Can someone please offer a solution or work around?
