Log out of Outlook on Android

I have outlook for work on my Android. I do not wish to be on it at all times the constant notifications are an irritation. I found a post from 2013 saying that logging out on an android was not an option. Surely by now 3 years later this has been resolved.  I currently can not find the option to log out.

    currently feeling grumpy. ..... .....  all the constant updates are REALLY annoying. 

    Constantly resetting my preferences is not fun for the user.

    I never set up 'focused' and I don't like 'threads' they just appear without me even getting a warning of what they are and its not always a quick 2 step exercise to be able to work it out during a business meeting.

    Please consider how some of the changes Microsoft introduces are managed, ie, give the user the option to activate it instead when they can read about the changes.. please don't just force it on me.

    Interesting thread.  With regards to security, many apps have a retained login on phone.  My recommendation would be to enable pin/biometric login to the phone as well as encryption.

    In the consumer space that is about all you can do easily.  If you're in the business space you can use Intune policies to enforce app by app security (such as PIN every time you open the app).

    I would be concerned about not being able to log in again! I have Outlook AND Hotmail on my phone and I would be happy to get rid of one of them because my phone is just about full. 

    The real question is can you change your password? The phone needs a password to unlock but any local techo store could do that. I have been accused of sending strange emails so asked to change my password and it seems impossible.

    Hey I don't know if this will still work for you but this is how I logged out successfully in September of 2018.  I haven't logged back into Outlook since on my phone.  Here I had the same problem today and was able to sign out of my outlook account by:

    !.  Tap the calendar icon at the bottom of my android phone screen.

    1. Tap the options icon next to the date in the upper left of the screen (3 horizontal bars).
    2. Scroll down the drop down to the bottom and you will find a sign out option. 

    It worked for me on my Samsung A8. 

    Hope this helps. 

    Microsoft should be ashamed that they have made this so difficult. 

    Anything to make protecting your meta data more difficult eh?

    Microsoft seem oblivious to this huge security risk. Surely they can't be? So why hasn't this been fixed?
